INTERIORS

Painting the interior of your home can give it a fresh, new look--and an entirely different feel. You can literally feel like you are in a new home. But the preparation, process and materials used can be the difference between a paint job that last for years and years--or one that begins to crack, peel and fade in no time. We treat each house like it is our own--which is why we warranty our work.

OUR PROCESS

Southern California Luxury Home in the P
Step 1 - Prepare Rooms

All furniture, floors and other surfaces that are not being painted need to be moved and/or covered with plastic and drop cloths to protect them from any potential drips, spills or overspray.

Step 2 - Prepare Surfaces

All nails, screws, light switch covers and power outlet covers and necessary lighting fixtures and/or ceiling fans must be removed. Holes and scratches are then filled with a spackling/putty compound and sanded smooth prior to painting.

Step 3 - Mask/Tape/Caulk

In order to get clean lines (and ensure only desired surface areas get painted), floors, walls and remaining fixtures are taped with painters tape. Clear caulking is also used in combination with the tape to ensure no paint bleeds under the tape. This combination provides the most professional finish.

Step 4 - Prime

All areas needing to be primed will be closely examined (i.e. bare sheetrock, spackle, high-gloss, stains, markers, crayons, etc.). The appropriate type of primer (oil based, water based latex and/or shellac) will be applied prior to painting.

Step 5 - Trim & Doors

In most cases, the trim and doors will be sprayed in order to achieve the smooth glass like finish. Doors are typically removed and painted in a designated room, garage or outside.

Step 6 - Ceilings

Once the trim and doors have been sprayed, the ceilings are then rolled (typically with an inner fed paint roller for faster completion and to avoid potential paint drippings).

Step 7 - Walls

Once the trim and ceilings have been completed, the walls are then rolled and/or brushed. Where necessary, a second coat is applied to ensure the most consistent and best looking result.

Step 8 - Cutting In

Finally, edges and corners are "cut in" using a combination of a brush, painters tape, and clear caulking. When finished, you'll have professional clean lines.
